Chef Kochhar is one of India’s first chef’s to receive a Michelin star and is now twice a Michelin starred chef. He is based out of London, where he started his very first restaurant. Chef Kochhar’s culinary oeuvre has evolved over time and has changed the way people experience indian cuisine. Benares was his first venture which got him his second Michelin star in 2007 after Tamarind in 2001. However, in 2018 Atul left Benares to pursue other independent projects worldwide. In March 2019, he opened Kanishka in Mayfair, Vaasu in Marlow July 2020 and is now all set to partner with Vishal Anand to open Saga in Gurgaon. We are delighted to have him on board to showcase his diverse knowledge of indian cuisine in the land that inspired him.
Chefs like Atul helped evoke the movement for unified indian food so that it receives the recognition it deserves on the world stage. His technique of enhancing every dish with authentic ingredients and method was a hit in London. So much so that his work ethic and talent provided him the privilege to cook for Prince Charles at St James’s Palace, as well as having been personally invited to meet HM The Queen during one of the President of India’s official visit to London. Chef Atul will bring the same spirit and passion while curating a special seasonal menu for Saga that completely transforms how people perceive Indian Cuisine.
